What are Polyurethane Pultrusion Profiles?
Polyurethane Pultrusion Profiles are structural products fabricated from pultruded continuous fibers such as glass and carbon fibers, impregnated with a polyurethane resin, and pulled through a heated die to create specified shapes of varied crosssections. Such strength-to-weight ratio, dimensional stability, and resistance to environmental and chemical degradation put these profiles as those known for their exceptional strength and for demanding applications. The high bonding of polyurethane matrix with reinforcing fibers offers very high tensile strength, impact resistance, and flexibility in reinforced profiles. Unlike normal materials, they are both tough and lightweight, making them both easier to handle and install. Due to their natural resistance to moisture, UV exposure, corrosion, and temperature variations, they have long-term reliability in outdoor and industrial environments. Furthermore, the flexibility of the pultrusion design allows for a wide array of customized shapes and sizes to meet the growing needs in both the construction as well as the energy, transportation, and infrastructure industries.
Features
- High Fiber Volume Content
The high ratio of reinforcing fibers resulting in improved stiffness and load-bearing capacity is assured by the manufacturing process.
- Superior Bonding Strength
The bonding strength between fibers and polyurethane resin is significantly higher than that of other resin systems.
- Low Thermal Expansion
Polyurethane Pultrusion Profiles provide excellent dimensional stability under temperature variations such as precision applications.
- Improved Fatigue Resistance
These profiles are designed to withstand repetitive stress and dynamic load and do so effectively over long service periods.
- Fire Retardancy
Polyurethane resin can be formulated for superior fire resistance, as is required in safety-critical industries.
- Versatile Surface Finish
There is the ability to support the range of finishes from top smooth and beautiful to some specified textured, improving usability and appearance in different applications.
- Noise and Vibration Absorption system
However, the natural damping properties of the material mean that it is useful in reducing noise and vibration in structural and mechanical systems.
- Eco-Friendly Production
It offers the possibility of reduced emissions and energy efficiency on the factory floor consistent with sustainability objectives.
- Customizability in Design
Pultrusion then allows the fabrication of complex and tailor-made profiles meeting specific industrial and architectural practices.
Application
- They are High Voltage Insulation Supports.
Structural components are used in electrical substations, taking advantage of their good electrical insulation and mechanical strength for high-voltage equipment.
- Busbar Supports
To be applied safely to secure and insulate busbars in power distribution systems, to prevent electrical faults, and to ensure reliable operation.
- Cable Management Systems
Used for construction of noncontact/non-corrosion resistant cable trays and ladders for industrial and utility environments.
- Transformer Brackets
Installed to support and insulate internal components while resisting mechanical and thermal stresses, these integral transformer assemblies are integrated into transformer assemblies.
- Switchgear Components
Incompact designs are used as insulating and structural elements in high voltage switchgear, where due to their durability and stability, they are also used as insulators in high voltage switchgear.
- Insulating Barriers
Enclosures and control panels use Polyurethane Pultrusion Profiles to separate live components for improved safety and performance.
