Description

What is High Voltage Bushing?

Power transmission and distribution systems use High Voltage Electrical Insulation Bushing to provide safe electrical insulation and mechanical support to the conductor that passes through a grounded barrier, i.e. transformer or switchgear casing. The bushings are intended to withstand high voltages, harsh environments, and mechanical stresses, and provide reliable electrical performance. Designed with the capability to resist electrical breakdown, high-voltage bushings are constructed from materials such as porcelain, epoxy resin, or composite polymers. Their design frequently compels them to have some kind of central conductor surrounded by insulating materials and an external casing, to minimize arcing and improve safety with operations. In humid or polluted environments, the bushing also may present sheds or ribs to increase the creepage distance, reducing the leakage current in the surface of the bushing. Due to their durability and adaptability, they can be used for transformers, circuit breakers, and other high-voltage equipment in industrial and utility on their behalf.

Features

  1. High Dielectric Strength

With excellent electrical insulation properties, the High Voltage Bushings are designed to handle extreme voltages and so can be used in safe and reliable power transmission.

  1. Environmental Tolerance

Engineered to withstand harsh conditions, these breaks are resistant to temperature fluctuations, UV radiation, moisture, and more, and thus ideal for use on the ground or in other difficult locations.

  1. Low Partial Discharge

Partial discharge is so minimized as to require minimal advanced manufacturing to ensure that and to improve operational efficiency and increase service life.

  1. Robust Mechanical Properties

Under dynamic load as a result of vibration or thermal expansion, these bushings can sustain the mechanical stresses while remaining structurally sound.

  1. Material Versatility

We offer them in a wide range of materials (composites), and custom tailoring of the materials to achieve superior, customized to specific application needs.

  1. Compact Design

Lightweight materials and efficient profiles are common to modern designs that allow easier installation and less overall system weight.

  1. Custom Configurations

These bushings are designed to be adaptable to various voltage levels and installation types and can be tailored to exact industrial needs.

Application

  1. Transformer

For safety and economical transmission of energy in substations, used as insulation of high voltage conductors passing through the ground enclosure of power transformers.

  1. Gas-insulated Switchgear (GIS)

Used in GIS systems via installation to provide insulation and support for conductors, maintaining compactness and performance at the same time in narrow spaces.

  1. Circuit Breakers

Installed into high voltage circuit breakers to allow current to be safely conducted through the grounded enclosure without experiencing lightning when operating.

  1. Capacitor Banks

It is used to connect high voltage capacitor banks to the power system with insulation and loss minimizing.

  1. Overhead Transmission Lines

It has been applied to overhead line terminals as a point of transition between high-voltage cables and overhead conductors.

  1. Power Plants

Was deployed at high voltage generators and other high voltage equipment within power plant to provide means for electrical connections and insulation, as well as durability.

  1. Industrial Equipment

Large industrial electrical systems use High Voltage Electrical Insulation Bushing to safely get high-voltage cables to pass through barriers to facilitate efficient and reliable operation.
