What is FRP Winding Tube?

FRP Winding Tube is a fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) tube consisting of the strength of fiberglass and flexibility and durability of plastic. In the winding processes of such electrical and mechanical components, as transformers, motors, and generators, these tubes are in chief use as insulation and construction. It is characterized by a high strength-to-weight ratio, lighter than metal alternatives yet has excellent mechanical properties. Its corrosion, temperature, and electrical conductive resistance make it good for use in harsh industrial environments.  Moreover, the tube is inert to many chemicals, enabling long-term durability and low maintenance. Being so versatile, it can be customized in sizes and thicknesses depending on specific operational requirements in the winding and insulation of electrical devices.

Features

1. Above all, very good Electrical Insulation

FRP tubes have excellent properties of electrical insulation, which allow for the use of the tubes for electrical windings, protecting people and eliminating the possibility of short circuits.

2. High Mechanical Strength

Due to its high strength-to-weight ratio, the FRP Winding Tube is suitable for applications where strong support is desired, but not necessarily as a factor in the electrical or mechanical aspect, such as electrical or mechanical.

Application

1. Electrical components and structural support

Used as a rod of support in electrical and mechanical systems, it is used to render electrical insulation and structural integrity to circuit breakers, transformers, and motors.

2. Insulation in high-voltage systems

These tubes are available to supply the electrical insulator in high voltage systems that safeguard by avoiding electrical failures and short circuits.

3. Chemical and environmental protection

Its corrosion resistance permits its use in chemical plants and other industrial applications where contact with corrosive substances is a problem.

4. Construction and engineering applications

They are used as a lightweight, corrosion-resistant material for reinforcement, for example, in structural components such as beams and columns, replacing steel rods.

5. Marine applications

In the marine industry, ship components and offshore structures for durability in seawater corrosion.

6. Providing support to telecommunication system.

Telecommunication towers and antenna systems use these rods, standing the weather conditions while at the same time offering support, and can be used in outdoor environments for extremely lengthy spans.
