Description

What is FRP C Channel?

FRP C Channel is one of the structural parts fabricated by using fiber-reinforced plastic also known as a composite material where the base material is a polymer matrix reinforced with fibers commonly of glass or carbon. They are designed in a cross-sectional shape of C cross-section to have a high strength-to-weight ratio coupled with high durability. FRP C Channels possess excellent corrosion and chemical and environmental immune features that make them suitable for application in chemical plants where steel or aluminum material can easily corrode. These channels are lightweight and of high strength, easy to erect, and low on maintenance, hence find usage in the construction industry, electrical industry, marine industry, and chemical industries particularly where usage is in providing structural support, framing, and insulating purposes, etc.

Application

Composite c channel is utilized across industrial sectors owing to the flexibility of the material and other distinctive characteristics. Some usage areas are generic and include petrochemicals, marine constructions, food and beverages, paper making, metallurgy, effluent treatment, transportation, aerospace, and power sectors. The construction industry is notable where they are used in wall reinforcement grids, for building railings, and roof supports. Having outstanding features of high corrosion resistance, they can be used to their best advantages for plying filter plate supports, oil well sucker rods, pneumatic pipeline brackets, stairways and handrails, drainage pipes, and systems, and generator radiators, and so on in petroleum chemical industry. In electrical and power facilities, various necessary composite FRP C Channels are widely used in forms such as high-voltage cable trays, antenna masts, high-voltage operation rods, and other insulating supporting parts. Their applicability, wear resistance, and insensitivity to harsh working conditions put them in a strategic position in contemporary field projects.

Features

1. High Strength

This FRP channel exhibits tensile strengths of 150 to 300 MPa and bending strengths of 200 to 300 MPa. After 1000 hours of accelerated artificial aging flexural strength retention rate can reach up to 78%.

2. Low Deformation Rate

Advanced composite pultruded profiles keep 1000 hours of artificial accelerated aging with 0.03% length change and -0.07% width change. The long-term condition of geometric shapes and dimensions for products manufactured from these profiles is ensured.

3. High Thermal Deformation Resistance

The heat distortion temperature of FRP pultruded profiles is 186°C and within this temperature range, it maintains its rigidity and toughness at -60°C cooler temperatures.

4. Low Water Absorption

Standard advanced composite products have water absorption rates of <0.5% and pultruded FRP profiles of <0.257%, and thus are beneficial in humid environments.

5. Strong Corrosion Resistance

The hardness retention rate is 95% when immersed for 24 hours in a 3% HCl solution, and 89% in a 3% NaCl solution for the same duration. FRP C Channels are particularly desirable because they are suitable for general residential and commercial use as well as coastal and very corrosive industrial environments.

6. Environmentally Friendly Technology

The production process of pultruded FRP profiles produces low noise, great efficiency, low energy consumption, and small pollution, to meet the environmental protection requirement and standard.
