What is the Epoxy Glass Fiber Wound Tube?
The epoxy glass fiber wound tube is a high-performance composite material, consisting of filament wound glass fibers impregnated with epoxy resin around a mandrel and cured into a rigid tubular shape. The process leads to a material that provides great mechanical strength, good electrical insulation properties, and high resistance to the effects of moisture, chemicals, and heat. The tube’s design combines a lightweight structure with high mechanical robustness and is appropriate for use in electrical, industrial, and mechanical applications. It is normally used as an insulating part for transformers, switchgear, and other high-potential equipment. Capacity to Process and Develop
1. Customized Structural Design
Based on the mechanical mechanical performance of the client’s requirements such as tensile strength, bending strength, and torsional strength we design the layer structure. Thus this includes selecting the reinforcement materials such as glass fibers or glass fabrics, the winding angle optimization as well as reliability of the product.
2. High Thermal Resistance
Epoxy Glass Fiber Wound Tube normally employs F class or H class heat resistance rating resin and curing agent. It facilitates the running of the tubes by the injection process acceptance criteria during the vulcanization of silicone rubber.
3. Vacuum Degassing for Electrical Insulation
By vacuum degassing resin and curing agent mixtures before use, exceptional electrical insulation properties are assured, with partial discharge levels ≤ 5pC.
4. Enhanced Airtightness
The resin system is enhanced by the addition of special materials so that the wound tubes are suitable for demanding applications.
5. Corrosion Resistance Customization
If necessary, we can line the inner wall of the tube with a material that resists corrosion from SF₆ gas, so that the equipment is suitable for gas-insulated systems.
6. Custom Specifications
Rather than carrying pre-shaped tubes, Tubes Unlimited can design and manufacture tubes of varying sizes and specifications to fit client requirements.
7. Production Capability
We can produce tubes up to 10 meters in length and up to 1m in outer diameter, covering a wide range of industrial requirements.
Application
1. Zinc oxide arresters
Porcelain shell and composite shell zinc oxide arresters are the materializations of the insulator core structure and insulation element, using mechanical stability and safe performance under high voltage conditions.
2. Hollow composite bushings and gas-insulated high-voltage switchgear.
SF₆ gas-insulated switchgear systems and instrument transformers are an integral part of SF₆ gas-insulated switchgear and play a vital role in rugged insulation, excellent airtightness, and gas corrosion resistance.
3. Transformer tap changers
As key insulating components in transformer tap changers, capable of withstanding high electrical and mechanical stresses during voltage regulation operations.
4. Usage for wrapping tubes for high voltage circuit breaker arc extinguishing chambers or, current limiting fuses.
The high mechanical strength, heat resistance, and reliability make epoxy glass fiber wound tubes suitable for arc extinguishing chambers in high-voltage circuit breakers and current-limiting fuses for harsh operating environments.
